Endovascular arteriovenous fistula (endoAVF) creation marks a “major innovation in dialysis access”, while a “mounting evidence base” demonstrates their high functional patency rates. Now, new technologies promise to improve outcomes and expand the population of patients that can benefit from these procedures.
Here, Kate Steiner (Stevenage, UK) leads a discussion of these next generation endoAVF devices at the 2023 Charing Cross Symposium (25–27 April, London, UK). Joining her is Robert Shahverdyan (Hamburg, Germany) and Simon Hogan (London, UK), who offer a preview of “endoAVF 2.0”.
