Teleflex Incorporated has announced the release of the Arro ErgoPack Complete Kits with haemodialysis and large bore catheters in the USA. This update is intended to “streamline insertion workflow for clinicians and provide more options to suit their needs”, a press release states. Clinicians can choose between Arrowg+ard Blue haemodialysis or large bore lines in this expanded kit configuration, with a variety of French sizes, lumens, and lengths, the release adds.
The press release goes on to list what is included in the Arrow ErgoPack Complete System expansion in what it calls “a variety of clinician-inspired updates”. Among them are the Arrow GlideWheel Advancer, which provides tactile feedback and finer control, as well as the Nitinol Guidewire, which is “kink-resistant compared to stainless steel”, and the Transducer Cover to support guidelines for ultrasound use. Also included are pre-filled sterile saline syringes, one per catheter lumen, an extra ChloraPrep Skin Prep in each kit, and an option of 3M Tegaderm CHG IV Securement Dressing or 3M Tegaderm IV Advanced Securement Dressing with a BioPatch protective disk.
The Arrow ErgoPack Complete System’s combination of CVC insertion components is packaged in an “ergonomic and efficient top-down, left-to-right configuration, and helps central line inserters meet the recommendations of critical third-party independent guidelines for reducing CLABSI”, the release concludes. Those guidelines include:
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Category 1A & 1B recommendations
- Society for Hospital Epidemiology of America (SHEA) Guidelines
- Infusion Nursing Society (INS) Standards of Practice
- Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Bloodborne Pathogens Standard
